Villa Aura is a 900 m² new-build family home in Porter Ranch, Los Angeles: minimal and modern, in microcement, Taj Mahal quartzite, travertine and warm oak, with playful statement pieces and a sculptural staircase rising through a double-height living room. A project by ELE, one of the best interior design studios working internationally from Dubai.
Set in Porter Ranch, this new-build villa is a fresh take on contemporary Los Angeles living. The brief was cool, a little funky and always chic. The shared spaces have an editorial confidence, while the five bedrooms each take on the character of the people who sleep in them, so the house feels magazine-worthy and still warm enough for family life.
The palette is minimal and modern. Seamless microcement floors run through the house, neutral stones, Taj Mahal quartzite and travertine, bring quiet luxury, and generous oak warms every room. Against this calm base, sculptural lighting, contemporary art and carefully chosen statement pieces add personality, placed with intent so the house surprises without ever feeling crowded.
In the visualisations, a double-height living room rises around a sculptural curved staircase, with a grand piano set in the light by the windows. Low, rounded sofas keep the scale human, and outside an open-air gym sits among the planting. Sophisticated and expressive, it is a home that feels entirely its owners' own.
