Villa Clara is a 230 m² family home in Sunnyvale, California, renovated and extended for a growing family: bright, practical and elegant, with every space working hard and the garden part of everyday life. Designed by ELE, one of the best interior design studios in Dubai, for a client in the USA.
This two-storey home in Sunnyvale needed to grow with the family inside it. With a compact 230 m² footprint, every decision was about making space work: intelligent planning, practical storage and rooms tailored to daily routines, without giving up elegance. The family living areas now open to the garden, so the house feels far larger than its size.
The palette is natural and neutral, with subtle textures and playful accents of colour. Clean lines and light finishes keep the house bright and airy, while a soft sage green, herringbone oak and exposed timber beams add warmth. Each bedroom has its own touch of personality within one calm design language.
Skylights cut into the vaulted, beamed ceiling wash the kitchen with daylight, and a fluted island in sage green sits at its centre. Herringbone oak runs through the open plan, smart storage keeps every corner useful, and the garden flows in from the living spaces. Clara means bright, and it describes the home well.
