A place to gather
The clubhouse is where the Amani community meets. Our brief was to give it five distinct spaces, from the first welcome at reception to a slow morning coffee, while keeping one calm, natural character that feels of the island.
The clubhouse at the heart of Amani Township on Zanzibar: a reception, a lobby lounge, an all-day restaurant, a café and a coffee shop, each designed around how residents and guests should feel when they arrive. Designed by ELE, one of the best interior design studios in Dubai for hospitality, for a community in Tanzania.

Natural plaster, solid timber, woven textures and living greenery set the tone, with breeze-block screens, hand-painted tables and patterned floors adding colour and craft. Wide glazing keeps every room bright and connected to the landscape.
A sculpted reception desk sits beneath woven pendants and living green walls. Beyond it, a light-filled lounge is built around a living tree, with low, generous seating. The all-day restaurant brings colour and energy with planted dividers and a ceiling of hanging textiles, the café pairs a pale timber pastry counter with deep red seating, and the coffee shop settles into cloud-like woven pendants and natural plaster for a quiet working afternoon.
