A complete renovation of a 316 m² family villa in Mudon, Dubai. We opened up a traditional, compartmentalised layout into a light-filled contemporary home inspired by Italian residential design, without moving a single structural wall. Designed and delivered by ELE, one of the best interior design studios in Dubai.
The villa had a rigid, compartmentalised layout, and its structural walls and services could not move. We recalibrated the plan around them, creating open, flowing spaces and better light across all 17 rooms. Walnut-toned slatted dividers with a backlit base now define the ground floor zones without closing them off.
The concept drew on contemporary Italian homes: open-plan, light-filled and warm to the touch. Early boards explored soft ivory, brass, herringbone and smoked glass. The final palette brought in Arabescato Orobico and Calacatta Sponda marble, jade river marble and natural Italian travertine, with pieces by Giorgetti, Hermès and Occhio.
Villa Velada is now warm, inviting and refined. An inlaid marble medallion greets guests in the foyer, herringbone floors set the Poggenpohl kitchen apart, and an upstairs family lounge glows with integrated brass lighting. Our supervision through construction kept every detail true to the design: a timeless home made for everyday family life.
