Apartment Viva is a 219 m² penthouse at Banyan Tree Residences, Dubai, transformed from a simple, understated apartment into a dramatic family home with high ceilings, deep tones and room to entertain. A project by ELE, recognised as one of the best interior design studios in Dubai for luxury villas.
The penthouse had generous ceilings but little character. Our clients, a young family, wanted a home with presence: a sculpture to greet guests, an intimate lounge with a cigar bar, and a streamlined kitchen with the laundry tucked away. We reworked the plan, removing a hallway door to open up the route to the master bedroom.
The concept was refined elegance with a contemporary edge. Deep hues and sumptuous textures meet Calacatta Vagli and Nero Marquina marble, travertine, warm bronze and tinted glass. Mirrors and glass keep the space light, while layered lighting draws the eye up to the high ceilings.
The finished penthouse balances drama and comfort. A Calacatta Vagli bar with a backlit wine display anchors the lounge, a show kitchen island brings everyone together, and the master bedroom has a custom bench and a fireplace wall. For the children, there is a playroom with a slide, a hammock and a ladder.
